PaletteLab provides designers, developers, and creators with free algorithmic color palette generation, photo color extraction, WCAG 2.1 contrast ratio verification, color blindness simulations, and CSS/Tailwind design token exports. All mathematical color schemes are provided free of charge.
2. Intellectual Property & Commercial Usage License
Commercial Freedom: Colors and mathematical color harmonies belong to the public domain. All color palettes generated by or displayed on PaletteLab may be freely used in personal, educational, non-profit, client, and commercial design projects (including web apps, mobile apps, graphic design, branding, and print) with zero attribution or royalty requirements.
- Original Algorithms: All software code, user interface designs, mathematical formulas, logos, graphics, and proprietary software engines powering PaletteLab remain the intellectual property of PaletteLab and Animal Analytics.
- User-Submitted Palettes: If you create or share custom palettes on PaletteLab, you grant PaletteLab a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute that palette configuration within our catalog.
- No Scraping or Bulk Resale: You may not use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to harvest PaletteLab's entire palette database for the purpose of launching a competing database or bulk reselling our catalog as raw datasets.
3. Acceptable Use Policy
When using PaletteLab, you agree NOT to:
- Interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, or performance of PaletteLab or our web hosting infrastructure.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or bypass technical limitations or security measures implemented on the website.
- Use the platform in any manner that violates applicable local, national, or international laws.
4. Advertising & Third-Party Services
PaletteLab is supported by Google AdSense and ethical affiliate links to trusted design software. By using our website, you acknowledge that third-party advertising networks may display ads based on standard browser cookies as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
PaletteLab is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While our algorithms strictly adhere to WCAG 2.1 formulas and mathematical color models, color reproduction can vary significantly across different monitor calibrations, panel technologies (IPS vs. OLED), ambient lighting, and print CMYK conversion processes. PaletteLab cannot guarantee exact physical print color matching.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall PaletteLab, Animal Analytics, or its contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages resulting from the use or inability to use the site or any color scheme derived from it.
7. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of PaletteLab at any time without prior notice. We may also periodically update these Terms of Service. Continued use of the website after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
